AUTHOR VISITS/SCHOOL PROGRAMS

We offer several programs for schools. They are all provided by author Adam Gertsacov. For more information, or to discuss prices, please email Adam directly give Adam a call directly at 401-831-2263.

School Visits/Literacy Events

Adam will come to your school and speak with individual classes about the process of creating a book about Rhode Island. Your students will learn about the entire book creation process, from coming up with an idea to selling it to stores. Subjects include: researching, writing, editing, packaging, printing, marketing, and selling.

Hands On Programs

Adam will come and do a hands on workshop in your classroom. In a single classroom session (approximately 45-50 minutes), your students will have created an 8 page miniature book on the Rhode Island subject of their choice. (This workshop can be taught using any subject, including science, geography, and even language arts.) Supplies should be provided by the school.

Assembly Program

New for 2003 will be an assembly program: The Rhode Island Game Show. Loosely modeled on the popular Who Wants to Be a Millionaire television show, 4-5 students per assembly will be able to try their hand to show what they know about Rhode Island. Everyone who plays gets a prize! The questions are tailored towards various age levels (Upper Elementary, Junior High, and High School) and makes a great and fun way to learn about Rhode Island.
